“Everyday, before starting my Bullet, I make it a point to circumambulate it at least once to see if everything is where it should be. But that still isn’t a good enough assurance that the bike will start. When it does, I know that God exists,” says Bharath. There is something about the Royal Enfield Bullet that makes it transcend boundaries, both geographical and demographical. You find some very stylish and classy men (and women) riding them in the cities. You also find the village landlords and “Minors” (remember Bhagyaraj in ‘Raasukutty’?) using them to cruise by mud roads and highways. Irrespective of the user profile, when you hear the Thump, you know that you’re in the presence of the Bullet!
 
The Royal Enfield was initially a UK-based motorcycle brand, which, for some peculiar reason, became the craze in India. In fact, of the only two Royal Enfield manufacturing plants in the world, when the British factory in Redditch was closed, the one in Thiruvottriyur, Chennai remained and flourished! And even as the rest of the world was smitten by the plastic bikes from Japan and mean machines from Germany, RE continued to keep Indian adventurers spellbound.
