WHAT: The Le Orcahrd Residents Welare Association’s mega cookery contest

WHERE: Le Orchard (Ben Foundation) Apartments, Padikuppam Road, Anna Nagar West
The mega cookery contest was sponsored by Aachi Masala, with a variety of dishes made using Aachi Masala products. The innovative and mouth watering dishes cooked by the residents on the spot outdid each other; so much so, that the judge (a prominent chef from a renowned star hotel in the city) found it difficult to select the prize winning items! Around 50 participants participated in four categories. Ammu Kamalakkannan and Kavitha Shanmugam received first place (a 1 gm gold coin), Prameela Ravivarman and Ashmi Prakash were the winners of the second prize in the ‘sweets’ category. Madhubala and Sindhumathi won first place, while Gulnar Khan and Fidha Parvez Khan got second prize in the ‘rice” category. In the ‘Curry’ category, Lakshmi Senthil Kumaran came first, followed by Meera Singh in second place. Lastly, the ‘Fry’ category saw Bhuvaneswari take home first place, and Jothimathi, the second place. G Natarajan, President of the Association presided over the event and the prizes were distributed by Padmasingh Issac, Managing Director of Aachi Masala and his wife, who were thrilled by the enthusiastic participation by residents.
