Three Generations of Tennis Superstars
 
Casual passers-by would probably think that it is just another impressive big house on the posh Oliver Road, Mylapore, but little would they know that three legends of tennis call it their home. RITZ considers it an honour to interview Ramesh Krishnan and his illustrious dad, Ramanathan Krishnan. It is also our privilege to present to you one of the earliest Indian tennis players, Ramesh’s grandfather, T.K Ramanathan.
 
The Sania Mirzas, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathis of today owe a share of their limelight to the contribution of Ramanathan Krishnan who with his world ranking single-handedly put Chennai on the world tennis map. Passion for tennis probably runs in this family’s genes. As do strong legs. So while Roger Federer might be the greatest ever tennis player in the history of the sport, Ramanathan Krishnan achieved remarkable success long back when legends like Rod Laver set the courts ablaze with their serves and volleys.
